Napkin Inspiration

Line Dance

The third in our napkin series is called Line Dance for rather obvious reasons. For this, we decided to see what our art might look like if we interpreted the napkin rather literally. For some the details such as dots were done by hand stitch. One design negated the color. Another cut the piece diagonally but the essence of the original design remains. It seems we all thought, in the end, that this particular decision did not produce a very satisfying work. It is always better to be inspired by something but not necessarily to duplicate it. Enjoy all the same!

Competing Narratives

Inspiration was derived from a black and white floral. Some chose to interpret it literally while others created a graphic feel. It's always fun to see into the mind of an artist.

City Art Blocks

Inspiration is found everywhere. In this case, in a napkin. And, the first of three napkins for which inspiration was drawn. This one is called City Art Blocks. Can you imagine strolling around the city looking at the various art exhibits. Enjoy!
