April ...comes little by little

First up is business as usual. We sorted through all of the details for the upcoming show at the Sisters Fiber Art Gallery. And, there were a lot. Check back soon for the nitty gritty.

As artists, we work in a variety of ways and explore many different techniques. And so, our meetings would be totally wrong if there was not a sharing. And that is exactly what we did. Snippets of some work evolving.

Decisions, Decisions

There are several exhibits for MIX later this year. Details for the Sister's exhibit at Twigs Gallery in late May and early July were finalized. We will be displaying our most recent work so, fun times are ahead for all.

Our members are a diverse group and make a lot of other work during the year. Meet and greets are a time for each of us to share such work and discuss the techniques and inspirations. Here is a snippet of what was shared this month.

We Bagged It (read on)

January's meet up was at Hilde's studio. It seems the new task of the host is to find a very fun napkin to use as inspiration for new work. LOL So here is the "jumping off point" for our next 18 inch square work. Will it be leaves or black and white or something else entirely?

Another fun surprise for the day was a project that Hilde planned for all to do.  Each of us was to bring a few pieces of a favorite fabric. These were used to make a  squeeze pouch. They were inspired by the work of Bookhou. See the video here: https://www.youtube.com/live/nTEMKIchkBo?feature=share
And drumroll please, see our work here.

What a fun day! Thanks Hilde!

Inspiration from...

a napkin, none the less.

Continuing our 18-inch square work, we are considering things that inspire us. In this case, it was a paper napkin.  It looks quilterly. It looks artsy. Think Mondrian. We ran with it.

Here are a few glimpses of some early work.
